This verse serves as profound reminder of the influence of leadership and the importance of integrity. In this verse, we see a warning, against deception and it's ripple effects throughout a community or nation. THE ROLE OF A LEADER: INFLUENCE AND RESPONSIBILITY 1. Leaders holds significant power and influence over their followers 2. Their decisions and actions set the tone over the entire community 3. Provers 29;12 emphasizes the critical nature of what a leader chooses to listen to and believe LISTENING TO LIES 1. When a leader listens to falsehood, it corrupts their judgment and decision making 2. Lies can come in varoius forms;flattery, deceit, misinformation or fear mongering 3. A leader's susceptibility to lie can lead to widespread corruption and injustice THE CONSEQUENCES OF DECEPTION: A CORRUPTION AMONG OFFICIALS 1. Seeking wisdom from God, through prayer and scripture, is essential 3. Surrounding oneself with honest advisors and being accountable to ethical standards strengthens integrity THE EXAMPLE OF CHRIST 1. Jesus christ, our ultimate example of righteous and leadership, always spoke and lived by the truth 2. His teachings and actions were rooted in love. justice and integrity 3.
