🌿 When Compassion Becomes a Calling: Lessons from Nehemiah 1:2–4 Bible Text: > “When I heard these words, I sat down and wept, and mourned certain days, and fasted, and prayed before the God of heaven.” — Nehemiah 1:4 (KJV) 💔 The Moment that Changed Nehemiah’s Life Some messages don’t just reach your ears—they reach your soul. When Nehemiah received the heartbreaking news about the condition of Jerusalem, everything around him stopped. His heart broke. The once-glorious city of God lay in ruins—its walls torn down, its gates burned, and its people living in fear and disgrace. Even though Nehemiah lived far away in the comfort of the Persian palace, his spirit was tied to the pain of his people. He didn’t ignore what he heard or say, “That’s not my problem.” Instead, he sat down, wept, mourned, fasted, and prayed. That reaction was not weakness—it was divine sensitivity. It was God stirring his heart to act. 🌿 The Context of Nehemiah 1:2–4 Nehemiah was serving as the cupbeare...

BEAUTY FOR ASHES

SEXUAL ABUSE Abuse occurs when one person inflicts physical, emotional, or psychological damage on another person, especially in a relationship where love is expected. 1. VERBAL ABUSE: May occur through name calling, belittling, harsh criticism, sarcasm, mockery, condemnation, or threatening. The damage is done by words and felt in the heart. 2. PHYSICAL ABUSE: May occur through excessive spanking, debilitating punishment, or hitting, pinching, etc, causing wounds and bruises. The damage is done by hands, feets, or other instruments and is felt in the body and in the heart. 3. EMOTIONAL ABUSE: May occur through inflicted guilt, rejection, playing on fears, abandoned, or playing the martryr. The damage is done by one person tweaking the emotions of guilt or fear in another person. This keeps the first person in control and the controlled person in continued emotional distress. 4. SEXUAL ABUSE: May occur through rape, incest, fondling, spectator sex, exposing oneself to others, introducing others to pornography or sexually explicit materials, verbally invading another's sexuality. Sometimes sexual abuse is accompanied by one or more of the other forms of abuse as well. This is especially likely when the abuser is an older person and the abused is a child. Verbal or emotional pressure or both are commonly used to enforce silence about the abuse. It's my conclusion to all my readers to teach all that are unreached with these messages to deliver this message to the community as many times as possible to protect especially women in marriage and young girls who are innocent on these abuses.
