When Compassion Becomes a Calling: Lessons from Nehemiah 1:2–4
By Anuri Mabel
"Purpose is not something you chase—it’s something you uncover, already planted within you like a seed waiting to bloom."
Every woman asks this question at some point in life: “Why am I here?”

Purpose isn’t just for the preachers, the presidents, or the platformed. It’s for you, dear sister. Whether you’re raising children, building businesses, fighting silent battles, or learning how to breathe again after a hard season—you have a purpose.
And discovering it doesn’t require perfection. It simply calls for courage, curiosity, and connection to your Creator.
In this chapter, we’ll walk the path together—from the confusion, through the questions, and into clarity. Your purpose is calling—will you answer?

Let’s clear the air:
Purpose is not a title.
Purpose is not your paycheck.
Purpose is not always loud or public.
Purpose is the quiet conviction that what you do matters, even if it’s unseen by the world.
🕊️ Scripture Reference:
“For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things He planned for us long ago.” – Ephesians 2:10 (NLT)
You were already designed with purpose in mind.
Many of the most powerful women discovered their purpose not in success, but in suffering.
Think of the woman who survived abuse and now counsels others.
Or the single mother who teaches other women how to budget and rebuild.
Or the once-broken girl who now stands on stages speaking life.
Pain refines purpose. It breaks us open so that light can pour in—and pour out.
💡 Reflection:
What pain have I gone through that could become someone else’s healing? By Anuri Mabel
Finding your purpose doesn’t happen overnight—but here are five steps to guide your journey:
Ask: What brings me life? What breaks my heart? What skills come naturally to me?
Sometimes, purpose is hidden in what people always come to you for—advice, encouragement, creativity, organization.
What has shaped you? Your story isn’t random—it’s a blueprint for your purpose.
Purpose grows through action. Volunteer, help a friend, start small. Movement reveals mission.
Ask God to reveal it. He knows you better than anyone else ever could.
Just like nature has seasons, so do we. Your purpose in one season may be motherhood, in another it may be ministry or marketplace work.
Don’t let comparison rob you of joy.
Don’t despise small beginnings.
Don’t delay because of doubt.
🌺 Encouragement:
You are not late. You are not lost. You are learning—and that is holy.
What am I most passionate about?
What do I feel deeply called to change or improve in the world?
How has my pain shaped my perspective?
Where do I feel fully alive?
“I am created for a divine purpose. I trust the process of becoming. I will walk in my assignment with grace, strength, and peace.”
– Anuri Mabel
Dear sister,
You are not here by accident.
You are not just passing time.
You are not just going through the motions.
You were born for such a time as this
Maybe your purpose is to build.
Maybe it’s to nurture.
Maybe it’s to write, speak, heal, lead—or simply to shine light in dark places.
Whatever it is, it’s already in you. And the world is waiting.
So rise up—not with pressure, but with promise.
Don’t rush it. Don’t fear it. Just keep showing up.
And one step at a time, your purpose will unfold.
You are purpose in motion.
You are heaven’s answer to a specific problem on earth.
Now go walk boldly in that truth.
